Well the fine, cold and frosty weather came to an abrupt end today - persistent rain and blustery winds put an end to any thoughts of getting out this afternoon, I dont think it got light at all today!
Even the garden feeders were deserted for the most part, however, I couldn't resist trying to get some images of the GREEN WOODPECKER, just to show how wet it was outside today!
Rubbish photo's taken in the gloom, but these pics show the conditions :-(

He does look a bit bedraggled mate!
Alan,
I looked much the same after walking home from work today :-)
Didn't bet light all day here either Warren - unlike you I never even glanced at the camera all day :-(
Lovin the soggy woodpecker - sums the day up 'perfectly'
Cheers

Cracking pics again Warren. Nowt doing up here..apart from freezing fog, black ice, then persistent rain.
Not rubbish at all Warren! It did look wet though. Really heavy rain here and beating against the windows as I type. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear about more flooding.
Turned out well Warren. Love the blurred rain in the shots, makes it a nice shot I think.
Not rubbish at all mate, a Green Woodpecker in a tree is not an everyday occurrence.
Warren ,
Whilst I understand your frustration of not being able to get out today , I just hope that the RSPB and BTO do not read your posting today , especially after admitting that your picture folder was empty yesterday .
Whilst we joke about using super glue to fix a bird to a branch whilst we take a shot , I think screwing that Green Woodpecker to one ( see first shot ), albeit in the confines of your own garden , is taking things just a bit too far , especially in today's weather conditions .
That screw was used for the Nuthatches Greenie, it wouldn't hold a Green Woody!
Excellent soggy/soaked/saturated Green Woodpecker pics Warren.
By the way....seen any good 'Tiger' pics lately!!!!
Woow great series !!!
well done
certainly shows off the conditions yesterday, you did well warren, my camera never got out of the bag!!
