Early rain meant a later start to my patch visit, the rain clearing later in the morning to give some sunny spells.

It's still a struggle to find anything new happening on my patch at the moment, it's all very static, I think some cold weather and change in wind direction might help things ! Birds of note today were : The BUZZARD that once again sat in it's favoured small Oak tree that stands in the arable field adjacent to High House Lane, the KINGFISHER that was at the lakes again. Also, a TAWNY OWL that was heard to hoot from its roost site in the Scrubby Woods as I was photographing the COOT pair and immature MUTE SWAN. Singles of COAL TIT, TREECREEPER, GOLDCREST, and NUTHATCH were seen with the LONG TAILED TIT flock in the Scrubby Woods, where a pair of BULLFINCH were also found.

A GREY WAGTAIL was at the Greenhouse Grounds, as was the female KESTREL, and 8 + MEADOW PIPITS were on the Ashes Lane Fields, where I saw and heard a YELLOWHAMMER fly over.

Migrant Alley had obviously been disturbed, as the large Starling flock seen yesterday were nowhere to be seen, nor were there any Black Headed Gulls or Corvids.

At least I got a chance to use the camera today!

Its really pleasing to see the immature Mute Swan looking well, the fear of it getting an infection from the barbed wire seems to have passed now  :-)

The Adult birds have moved elsewhere for the time being, the young bird is now on the ornamental lake, where there is some vegetation for it to eat, plus hand outs from the lake owners and myself  :-)
