Another patch visit missed today, I forgot I had a dental appointment early this afternoon  :-(  I did at least get something for the December list this morning as I walked into work, when a LITTLE OWL (52) called from the darkness of a large garden adjacent to the Greenhouse Complex.

I'll have time to catch up with my patch visits over the Xmas holidays, as I'm off work after the 20th  :-)

After the dentist, there was just enough time and light left to get myself into my garden shed and await to see if a Waxwing would come in to feed on the apples I have placed for them, they didn't of course, but it was nice to see the return of not only the GREEN WOODPECKER, but also of the female BLACKCAP, I got lots of photo's of it, but still not in the greatest of light.
Blackcap - I like the way the red apple has reflected onto the Blackcaps plumage here

A brilliant set of images of the female Blackcap. the ones with the apple are particularly good.

The question is....could you bite into an apple after your visit to the dentist Warren?

Pete,
I was ok for apple biting, but not tea drinking :-)

I'm pleased you all liked the Blackcap shots, I enjoyed taking them, always a real pleasure taking photo's of the more unusual patch species :-)
