Sunday 16 June 2013

I just had time for a quick look around the Wet Woods, Greenhouse Grounds and sheep pasture at Migrant Alley this morning, as I had other commitments today.

The brief visit was worth while though, as I confirmed Successful breeding for LINNET, when two adults were seen with a recently fledged youngster at Migrant Alley, and also TREECREEPER, an adult bird was seen taking food to a youngster up in a large oak in the Wet Woods.

I added PEREGRINE (65) to the months list as one flew over the Ashes Lane field, that hikes the June list up to joint 4th place, the same tally as last year and 2010.

I was lucky enough to be tolerated by the SWALLOW family as they sat on a barbed wire fence waiting to be fed, and I took lots of photo's of them, unfortunately they were on the dark side of the fence, so the images weren't quite of the quality that I had hoped for, some nice shots none the less were obtained, and will last me for a few future posts!

Gorgeous shots of the juvey swallows Warren, and great news about the breeding Linnets & Treecreepers.
I seem to just have a garden full of young Sparrows & Starlings (not that I'm complaining!) :)

Warren....Brilliant images of the Swallows never mind this business about...'not quite of the quality I had hoped for'....Good to see these results of successful breeders.

Hi Pete,
I just thought the Swallow shots would be a bit better than they turned out :-)
