Not a great deal to report from my patch visit today, the weather was very dull, with poor visibility, but still and warm, better than the thundery showers that were forecast at least!

I did add another species to this years patch breeding list, when a family of at least 5 young WRENS were seen being brought food over in the Scrubby Woods, where also family of Coal Tits were seen, the second to breed on patch this year.

Only one raptor was seen today, that being the SPARROWHAWK, but three gull species were seen, all feeding on the ripped up paddock at Migrant Alley, they were BLACK HEADED, HERRING and LESSER BLACK BACKED GULL.

The only other noteworthy species seen was a LITTLE OWL at the Small Holding, apart from that it was all very quiet.

No photo's were taken in the poor light this morning, but here's a few more of the Common Blue Butterfly I took recently, and a few garden birds, which really needed some more light  :-(

I did get to photograph the newly fledged GREAT SPOTTED WOODPECKER, despite the dull light.
Lots of BLUE TIT fledglings are in the garden too

Warren ,
I tried for similar Blue Tit feeding shots this afternoon , but as you say the light was awful and they all went in the bin .

Hi Greenie,
You just cant get the shutter speed in this poor light, doesn't bode well does it, considering the sun is out for longer at this time of year than any other!
