No patch visit was made today, the weather was meant to be wet all day, so I took the day out to do my annual clothes shop  :-)  In the end it hardly rained at all ! I also told the wife i'd sort a few domestic DIY jobs, which now all done will leave me time for more birding over the Autumn  :-)

I did sneak an hour at lunch time to check the fields and paddocks at Migrant Alley, which didn't turn the Wheatear that I was hoping for, just the STARLING and ROOK flock were seen. A couple of WHITETHROAT and a CHIFFCHAFF were at the Greenhouse Grounds, along with an adult and Juvenile GREEN WOODPECKER, also just one KESTREL was noted here. A few HERRING GULLS went over as did a single LESSER BLACK BACKED GULL

Back at it again tomorrow, but I dont really expect much in the way of migrant Activity looking at the weather over the weekend, however, next week the wind direction looks like turning to an easterly, so it could shake things up a bit  :-)

Still a few Butterfly photo's in the 'Blog Folder' so i'll post those up today.

Well when I see you weather, I think also about ours... We almost did not see the sun this summer and it is only 10°C, almost like in winter.... Bad bad bad... So happy we went to the US for ten days... birding has been very poor here and like you I simply don't want to get wet or cold ;-) Nice butterflies shots ;-)

I've still got a couple of t-shirts from the early 1980s older than most of my colleagues at work...and they still fit...nearly ;-)

Cheers
