Variable amounts of cloud, plus an easterly breeze this morning made it feel a bit cooler than of late, not a bad day though.

Once again, as yesterday, a 90 minute sky watch was made first thing, ever in the hope of something special flying over, but as yesterday I was limited to a GREY HERON and a few Gulls, however two of those were MEDITERRANEAN GULLS, always a good sighting here, the other species were HERRING GULL and LESSER BLACK BACKED GULL.

The LESSER WHITETHROAT was singing again, moving from Ashes Lane to the Greenhouse Grounds, where the COMMON WHITETHROAT pair were also chasing around.

The male KESTREL hunted over the area, as did a BUZZARD and a KESTREL.

A look through the Scrubby woods around mid morning was made, mainly looking for Odonata, thankfully I was rewarded with my first Hairy Dragonfly of the year, not a common species here, just a couple of records each spring, this one has turned up one day later than last years first sighting. I even got some reasonable images of it, at last some camera action  :-)

I only had one angle to shoot from, due to all the bramble, but it was good enough  ;-)

Stunning pic.
I saw a dragonfly by the chaser pub with its head hanging by a thread. It was still moving a week later !
