Due to high winds and driving rain this afternoon, no patch visit was made. Although, whilst walking home from work in the teeth of the gale, I stopped off at the Pub Field to count the LAPWINGS, I got to 294, but considering the conditions I probably missed a few !!

Even the garden birds didn't bother turning up in that weather!

Thats a fantastic count of Lapwing. The max winter flock I have ever had at Shenstone was 234 in winter 2009-2010

That's two 'blanks' in recent days for you Warren....this is getting serious.

Perhaps a good time to remind you of counts in excess of 5,000Lapwings at locations in our area int'north.
