Sunday 10 February 2013

It was cold, wet and windy this morning as I left for my full patch walk, a walk that was never completed, as after just two hours I realised there was little to be found in the ever darkening conditions  :-(  It's still raining now as I write this at 16:20hrs!

I did visit the lakes though, where the COOT pair were feeding, only two CANADA GEESE were with them, plus a MOORHEN and three MALLARDS, a bonus bird in the form of a CORMORANT sat in one of the bankside trees.

Looking around the Tree Nursery and Greenhouse grounds I found just a MEADOW PIPIT of note, but a LESSER BLACK BACKED GULL (55) that flew over was a new species for the month, so I supposed the visit wasn't a total waste  :-)

The only photo's for today are more of the Long Tailed Tit and Great Spotted Woodpecker from yesterday..............roll on spring............

Hi Warren :-) Gorgeous photos again both here and on the previous post. They're all lovely but the LTT looking straight at the camera on the previous post was a real cracker!

We had heavy snow here yesterday pm onwards, just a little more today.

That last pic could be a character out of Star Wars :-) Great pics. Well done for even attempting a walk yesterday.
