No patch visit was made today, apart from the walk in to work and back, which didn't turn up anything of note, apart from a Small Tortoiseshell butterfly. I stayed on at work this afternoon to help out with the kiddies sportsday.

Normal service and my sanity will be resumed tomorrow!

I've just been catching up on your latest posts Warren, sometimes life unfortunately gets in the way ;( and I have to play catch up.

I loved the photos on the last post of the young Wagtail and the Skipper. On the post before I absolutely agree with you about the Blackberry, I like everything about it, the flower, obviously the berry, the sheer determination of the plant to survive and how it attracts so many insects. On the post before I loved your peanut feeder alive with Blue Tits and on Sunday's post it was lovely to see your garden blooms and to hear about your bat detecting.

As for being late getting out at 6.30am!!! no wonder I don't see the amount of wildlife you do,if only I was a Lark and not an Owl!

Oh yes, I also agree about what some of the so called custodians of the countryside are doing to it.

No doubt you spent sports day gazing into the sky, notebook at the ready (with red kites passing over in droves)?

Kingsdowner - you know me too well, I did indeed have an eye on the sky, Hightlight was a male Sparrowhawk go low over the 100m track carrying prey!
