A grey, mild, and windy day again today, the 13 CANADA GEESE (52) that flew over early this morning as I walked to work , proved to be the highlight of the day.

This afternoon the weather was even duller, with frequent squally showers, I visited the Lakes again, where there is shelter from the rain, and counted 24 MALLARD, 11 MOORHEN and a GREY HERON on the water. I stayed for 40 mins, dodging the showers, but it was a particularly dire visit. Birds seen, of any note, were SPARROWHAWK, a pair of GOLDCREST, a pair of BULLFINCH and a COAL TIT. GREEN and GREAT SPOTTED WOODPECKERS called, as did a MARSH TIT, and a JAY squawked from cover, lets hope the first full patch walk of the month tomorrow morning turns out to be a bit more interesting !

Dire here too Warren, it doesn't seem to have stopped people standing out in it this evening and burning their money though!

Hope things are better for your full patch walk tomorrow :)

We had it a bit rainy too, but, it looks like a sunny day, so I'm told by the weatherperson.

Canada Geese are a rarity at Reculver, you have to twitch these often to get them on your year list. Westher hopefully better tomorrow.
