This afternoons patch walk was a bit of a dreary affair, in some blustery but bright conditions I walked the same route as I have been doing all week, that being the Tree Nursery, Pub Field, Migrant Alley and the Greenhouse Grounds.

The only things of interest were a couple of KESTRELS and a GREEN WOODPECKER in the Tree Nursery, one or two MEADOW PIPITS heard going over Migrant Alley, with a mix of HOUSE MARTINS and SWALLOWS plus two CHIFFCHAFFS with a LONG TAILED TIT flock at the Greenhouse Grounds, sightings of a SPARROWHAWK and BUZZARD up hunting were some consolation for very quiet visit.

I hope something turns up for tomorrows full patch walk, there certainly seems to be very few summer birds left out there!

I got lucky with a Migrant Hawker that alighted on a bramble stem, so had something to photograph  :-)

The Raspberry dump was good for a ROBIN photo

Plus I always try and get some sort of long Tailed Tit photo when they are about  :-)

This Immature Gull flew over Migrant Alley, I shot a few photo's of it, probably a Herring Gull, but does the bill look long to you ? maybe it's just a trick of the back lighting ? More investigating needed I think  :-)
