There was the treat of some more sunshine this morning, before cloud rolled in around midday, and a few showers broke out.

I spent a couple of hours around the Greenhouse Grounds and Migrant Alley first thing, but there was quite a bit of disturbance at the latter, so not much was seen there. In the Greenhouse Grounds and the associated Copse there were 8 CHIFFCHAFF, a BLACKCAP, a WILLOW WARBLER and a WHITETHROAT, all newly arrived I suspect  :-)

There was a LITTLE OWL in the garden adjacent to the Greenhouse Grounds, and another one was found in the wooded run off pool at the Ashes lane Field, where a good number of MEADOW PIPITS were also seen in the weedy field, I counted at least 35.

Over on the Lakes 2 KINGFISHERS were seen chasing each other across the Ornamental Lake, whilst on the main lake it was back to MALLARD and MOORHEN, although a GREY HERON did drop in whilst I was there. In the Adjacent Scrubby Woods, I failed to find the likes of Nuthatch, Treecreeper, Coal Tit or Long Tailed Tit, but 4 more Chiffchaff were seen and another Blackcap was heard scolding from the bushes.

A mid morning skywatch which lasted 90 minutes, didn't produce an awful lot, just KESTREL, SPARROWHAWK, HERRING GULL, BLACK HEADED GULL, a dozen HOUSE MARTIN, and the same number of SWALLOWS.

Nothing new for the months today, I'm still missing the Skylark and Yellowhammer which would take the September list into the 70's, hopefully I'll see these species at some point this month  :-)

Not much sat for the camera this morning, a shame as there was some nice light, this WREN did oblige though.

I spent some time at my garden feeding station this afternoon, trying to get some images of the garden regulars, I got a few, but it's still a bit dark under all my large shrubs! Three species came in that I didn't see on my patch walk, NUTHATCH, COAL TIT and a troop of at least a dozen LONG TAILED TITS - so they were out there somewhere!
