Just before venturing out I snapped this COLLARED DOVE that was in my garden |

It was hopeless this afternoon, pulses of heavy blowing drizzle, then heavier rain, had me abandoning my patch visit within an hour. I only manged to walk a circuit of the Tree Nursery, where very little was seen as everything was taking cover from the rain, more sense than me I guess! Just a couple of GREEN WOODPECKERS, a WHITETHROAT and a flock of 16 STOCK DOVES were seen, the latter being a good count for my patch................and that was that for yet another disappointing washout of a late spring day :-)

A couple of Green Woodpeckers and a wash out mentioned in the same post! Blimey I'd be over the moon a single Green Woodpecker.Fingers crossed for a turn in the weather soon. ; )
Love the look on the dove's face:)
Sixteen Stock Doves is nice Warren as is your Collared Dove photo but it really is thoroughly depressing now and just to add to the misery it's blowing a gale here along with the rain.
The only decent day here now looks like Saturday but just as you get your hopes up they change their minds!
Linda,
I suppose it's all relative :-) I see more Green Woodpeckers than sparrows ommy patch!
Songbird,
Allegedly, we have 3 days without rain coming up! It might not be sunny, and it will probably be windy, but it 'aint gonna rain :-)
Warren ,
Just hope their forecast is right for a change .
Only managed to check the two LTT nest ( still intact ) up on the Common and in came the rain again .
Luckily I had a brief spell of sunshine today for a quick effort in the valley. Will the sun ever shine!
Short post, one pic....says it all, it rained ALL day long up here in't north.
Nice mug shot of the Collared Dove by the way Warren.
"It was hopeless this afternoon"
It`s been pretty hopeless for the last few weeks, Warren.
I hope the weather improves for you next week Warren. You seem to be having it worse than most in the South East
Hi Warren,
Well the sun will come back, as it was over here for the last three days and it's gone now... Probably going to you now ;-)
