Friday 8 June 2012

I was beaten again by the weather this morning! It was blowing a gale, with squally showers blowing in, and although they were light and short lived, it made conditions terrible for finding birdlife - or any other life for that matter! So yet again my full patch visit was abandoned, just 20 mins into it  :-(

I tried again around 09:30, and headed out for a skywatch at Migrant Alley, mainly to watch out for any wind blown gulls that may pass through, I saw lots of HERRING GULLS, and a few LESSER BLACK BACKED GULLS but nothing more exciting than that. The wind continued to blow strongly, and a quick walk around the paddocks and sheep pasture was a bit of a waste of effort really, as I couldn't hear a thing over the top of the roaring wind  :-(

Things look to settle down a bit early tomorrow, (albeit only for a day, before more rain sets in), so surely i'll get round then!

Not even a photo to put up today  :-(   :-(

In about two weeks it will be the longest day Warren and we still haven't started summer. It wouldn't be quite so bad if there was someone we could blame!

Not very impressive weather for June, is it? Things look like they may be a little better next week...
