I didn't get around to any birding today, one of them annoying days that had more pressing things that needed doing! Saying that, I did have a quick scan of Migrant Alley on the way home from work, and the thousands of STARLINGS, REDWINGS and FIELDFARE were still around. I also gave the garden and surrounding area occasional scans, hoping to add to my Feb. bird count, but nothing new was added, I can still expect a few species - Goldcrest, Mistle Thrush and pied wagtail should turn up, with maybe flyover Cormorant and Grey heron, if the lake defrosts!

Good memory jerker that picture of the Blackthorn blossom .
It was out very early last year .
Hope 'the pressing things that needed doing' , didn't take too much out of you !
Blimey Warren you had me going there...blackthorn in February... yes last year was early, daffs out in Bristol in December, this year's a normal year.
To add to this, Warren. I had frogs in my garden pond in January last year.
I agree with Andrew. This winter is the norm.
Hi Warren, good selection of birds. Just picking up on your blackthorn comment, could be an interesting spring for flowering plants. I expect I'll visit sites as per previous years only to find the flowers yet to emerge.
