The last couple of days have seen partly cloudy skies, with a brisk wind at times.

It felt cooler in the wind early this morning as I sat out on my seat at Migrant Alley, where I spent a couple of hours hoping to find an Autumn migrant, but as yesterday, none were visiting, just the usual party of a dozen or so CANADA GEESE grazed in with the sheep, plus the resident ROOKS, JACKDAWS, CARRION CROWS and WOODPIGEONS. SWALLOWS were swooping over head, but little else was seen flying over, just HERRING GULL, LESSER BLACK BACKED GULL and BLACK HEADED GULL. The local BUZZARDS and KESTRELS were up hunting, plus behind my seat, at the greenhouse Grounds, a couple of WHITETHROAT and a CHIFFCHAFF were heard calling.

Later n the morning I visited Bough Beech reservoir, but it was similarly quite on the migrant front, with just GREEN and COMMON SANDPIPERS of note, plus a HOBBY as well as more Buzzard and KESTREL sightings.

It was mostly warm and sunny this morning, with just a moderate breeze bringing in a few light puffs of cloud.

I carried out another full patch walk in the kinder conditions, but managed a poor tally of bird species, just 41 in all, the likes of Songthrush, Buzzard and Pheasant were missing, plus those summer species that can no longer be found here, only SWALLOW, WHITETHROAT, CHIFFCHAFF and BLACKCAP were on the daylist to represent those.

I did however add LONG TAILED TIT (52) to the months list as last, as well as LITTLE OWL (53), one was calling from the Small Holding area.

Some of the KESTREL family remain hunting over the area, plus 2 SPARROWHAWKS were again observed over the Wet Woods. The only flyover species seen today were HERRING GULLS, plus the local group of CANADA GEESE with the lone GREYLAG GOOSE.
