This afternoon, as I got home from work, rain began to fall, so I decided to wait until evening to visit Migrant Alley, maybe a Migrant had dropped down during the afternoon rain.

On arriving I scanned the fence lines and fence posts, but no Wheatear or Whinchat was spied, nor any calling Yellow wagtails were heard going over, but there were some birds about, a flock of around 20-25 GOLDFINCH fed on the thistle seeds, and a flock of 40-50 LINNETS were on one of the paddocks. Along the fence wires a flock of around 30 SWALLOWS were sitting, most of them young birds, I manged to sit about ten meters in front of them and spent an hour photographing the feeding exploits.

Great set Warren, top shots. You should take this up for a job.

Thanks Marc,
Trouble is, weather conditions like this evening, plus the opportunity with the Swallows, rarely coincide, i'll not earn much at the rate it does happen! :-)

You are truly a master my friend! I did a similiar shoot 2 weeks ago for release in two weeks and my shots don't even compare to what you've captured here. Incredible. You should be quite proud of these....and frame.:)

Warren ,
Great shots , and good that the adults are finding suficient insects to feed their young after the Summer we've just had .

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments on the Swallow photo's, it was a rare combination of things coming together and being in the right place at the right time that made the photo's so nice :-)
