I only had 90 mins this afternoon, so I went to the Tree Nursery and the grounds of greenhouse complex to see what Butterfly and damselfly were about. It was a little disappointing, as only half hour out, the cloud thickened and the temperature dropped, but whilst in the warmer, brighter conditions, the Tree Nursery did provide me with my first White legged Damselfly of the year, also another Meadow Brown Butterfly, as well as a Common Blue Butterfly. All through my ''butterfly hunt'' I could see the KESTREL on the other side of Ashes lane, hoverring above the Greenhouses. Three STOCK DOVES flew up from the rough area amongst the small trees, and a sighting of a flyover MANDARIN DUCK was of note.

Over at the Greenhouse Complex I saw a Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly, my first for some time, and before the cloud came over I recorded a Large Skipper on a hawthorn bush. A bit of Skyscanning whilst there was worth the effort, as both SPARROWHAWK and HOBBY were seen.

Above and below: Large Skipper

Below: Common Blue

Lastly, the White Legged Damselfly

Beautiful pictures Warren. To answer your point on the grainy pictures, you have to be careful not to go too high in ISO... I try to get all the time to the lower values of ISO as possible, otherwise you get grainy images :-)

Really lovely photos, Warren. I particularly like the first Large Skipper!

I also thought that was a great photo of the Broad Bodied Chaser on yesterday's post.

I meant to tell you the other day that I like the smart new look!

Like your determination Warren, just 90 minutes to spare today but not 90 minutes you are prepared to loose in your interest of wildlife....great stuff!
