Once again dense fog spoiled the patch visit, it didn't fully lift until near midday, making for a very frustrating morning  :-(

Not much was seen in the conditions, I did make out at least 4 of the MANDARIN DUCK on the main lake, and a CORMORANT only got noticed as it flew off!

Most other sightings of note were around the Greenhouse Grounds, where a flock of GOLDFINCH involving at least 22 birds were feeding in and around some Alders, there was also a small flock of a dozen or so MEADOW PIPIT flitting below the raspberry support poles, where of course the KESTREL pair sat, the Mipits didn't seem to be bothered by them though  :-)

The LITTLE OWL called from the nearby garden, that seems to be its permanent home now. The DUNNOCK numbers have dropped of a bit from yesterday, but there were still half a dozen interacting in the scrubby areas of the Greenhouse Grounds, where I was surprised to see both a male and female BLACKCAP. Overhead more Meadow Pipits were heard but unseen, as were at least two MISTLE THRUSH and at least 4 SKYLARKS.

I hope the weather improves for tomorrows full patch walk!

Of course, in the fog, the camera stayed at home, but later in the afternoon a few images of the regulars at my Garden Feeders were possible, when just a few glimpses of sunshine were had, you can tell the images where the sun was out!

I would take that Coat Tit shot at Reculver, it's a very rare bird here. Hopefully something for the weekend.

It was very misty here too, I actually drove to the patch and then didn't walk round!! I was a bit late and had a lot to do at work which did contribute to my decision :-) Great pics again Mate.
